title: “Control Schema” description: “Machine-readable representation of AIGO governance controls.”

Control Schema

The Control Schema provides the machine-readable structure for AIGO governance controls. It supports consistent representation of controls and their relationships to governance expectations, risks, assessments, evidence, assurance, and improvement activities.

Purpose

The schema supports: * control identification * control description * ownership * applicability * implementation * assessment * evidence * assurance * improvement * governance traceability

Control relationships

A control should be understood as part of a broader governance chain rather than as an isolated record. A typical relationship is: governance expectation → risk → control → evidence → assessment → assurance Where applicable, rules and evaluation records can provide an additional machine-readable evaluation layer: requirement / condition → rule → evaluation → result

Control lifecycle

Controls can be considered across their lifecycle, including: * definition * applicability determination * implementation * operation * assessment * evidence collection * monitoring * assurance * improvement * retirement or replacement

Validation

Control definitions and their relationships form part of the machine-readable AIGO repository. The repository’s validation tooling checks relevant structural and reference integrity. Control coverage validation also provides a repository-level view of control relationships and references. A validation result indicates the state of the validated repository content; it does not itself establish legal compliance, certification, accreditation, or regulatory conformity.
