AI Governance Assurance

Assurance provides structured evaluation of whether AI governance arrangements are appropriate, implemented, and operating as intended.

Purpose

Assurance helps organizations obtain confidence in governance effectiveness and identify areas requiring improvement.

Assurance scope

Assurance may examine:
  • governance processes
  • roles and accountability
  • risk management
  • controls
  • evidence
  • approvals
  • monitoring
  • incidents
  • changes
  • continual improvement

Independence and objectivity

The level of assurance independence should be appropriate to the organization’s governance model, risk profile, and assurance objectives.

Outcomes

Assurance findings should be recorded and connected to responsible owners, remediation actions, risks, controls, and follow-up activities.
