Assurance Schema
The Assurance Schema provides a machine-readable structure for assurance activities, findings, conclusions, recommendations, and follow-up.Purpose
The schema supports traceable assurance across AI governance processes, risks, controls, evidence, assessments, and governance outcomes. Assurance can provide an independent or otherwise defined review of whether governance arrangements are designed, implemented, and operating as intended.Assurance activities
Assurance records can support:- assurance planning
- scope definition
- evidence review
- assessment of controls
- findings
- conclusions
- recommendations
- corrective actions
- follow-up
- closure
Traceability
Assurance should remain connected to the governance records that establish the subject and basis of the review. Depending on the assurance activity, this can include relationships to:- AI systems
- risks
- controls
- assessments
- evidence
- approvals
- incidents
- changes
- improvement actions
Relationship to evaluation
Assurance information can form part of the governance context used when evaluating defined requirements or conditions. The AIGO evaluation architecture separates evaluation logic from governance records: governance records → rules → evaluation This allows assurance records to remain authoritative governance artifacts while evaluation rules determine which conditions should be checked. The current repository includes machine-readable evaluation rules, validated evaluation fixtures, and validated evaluation orchestration.Canonical source
