# Schema Architecture

> The machine-readable schema architecture of the AIGO Framework.

# Schema Architecture

The AIGO Framework includes machine-readable JSON schemas that provide structured representations of key governance records and entities.

## Purpose

The schemas support consistency, interoperability, validation, traceability, and integration with governance tooling.

They provide a structured layer beneath the human-readable framework and guidance.

## Schema families

AIGO v0.1 includes schemas for:

* AI systems
* risk
* controls
* assessment
* approval
* monitoring
* incidents
* change
* assurance
* evidence
* management review
* improvement
* retirement
* governance

## How the schemas fit together

The schemas are intended to support relationships across the governance lifecycle.

A simplified flow is:

**AI system → classification → risk → controls → assessment → approval → monitoring → evidence → assurance → improvement → retirement**

The exact relationships depend on the governance context and applicable schema.

## Machine-readable source

The canonical JSON schemas are maintained in the AIGO repository under:

`schemas/`

The schema architecture and registry provide the structural index for the schema family.
