# AI Monitoring

Monitoring provides ongoing visibility into AI system operation and the effectiveness of governance arrangements.

## Purpose

Monitoring helps identify changes, emerging risks, incidents, control weaknesses, and other conditions that may require governance action.

## Monitoring areas

Depending on the system and context, monitoring may consider:

* system performance
* risk indicators
* control performance
* incidents
* changes
* policy compliance
* operational conditions
* assurance findings
* emerging risks

## Governance response

Monitoring results may trigger:
