# Maturity Model

# Maturity Model

The AIGO maturity model provides a way to evaluate the development and operational maturity of an organization's AI governance capabilities.

## Purpose

Maturity assessment helps organizations understand:

* current governance capability
* areas requiring improvement
* progression priorities
* governance consistency
* readiness for more advanced AI governance practices

## Use of maturity levels

Maturity should be treated as an improvement model rather than a certification by itself.

Organizations can use maturity assessment to establish a baseline, define improvement objectives, and measure progress over time.
