# Framework Mappings

> How the AIGO Framework maps to external AI governance and regulatory frameworks.

# Framework Mappings

AIGO provides structured mappings to established AI governance and regulatory frameworks.

## Purpose

Mappings help organizations understand how AIGO concepts relate to external requirements, controls, lifecycle expectations, and governance practices.

The mappings are intended to support:

* gap analysis
* implementation planning
* cross-framework alignment
* control traceability
* evidence planning
* assurance

## Current mappings

AIGO v0.1 includes mappings for:

* European Union AI Act
* ISO/IEC 42001
* NIST AI Risk Management Framework
* cross-framework relationships among these models

## Mapping is not equivalence

A mapping expresses a relationship between frameworks. It does not mean that two requirements, controls, or governance concepts are legally or operationally identical.

Framework-specific scope, terminology, authority, and interpretation remain important.

## Canonical source

The complete mapping packages are maintained in:

`mappings/`

The GitHub repository is the authoritative source for the complete v0.1 mapping content.
