# Governance Implementation

Governance implementation establishes the organizational structures, responsibilities, policies, procedures, and decision mechanisms required to operate AI governance.

## Core activities

Organizations should establish:

* governance ownership
* decision authority
* role responsibilities
* governance policies
* operational procedures
* escalation mechanisms
* documentation and evidence practices
* assurance responsibilities

## Governance operating model

AIGO governance should connect strategic oversight with operational execution.

This means governance responsibilities should be traceable from organizational decisions to AI systems, risks, controls, evidence, and assurance activities.

## Relationship to the framework

Governance implementation provides the organizational foundation for applying the AIGO lifecycle, risk-management model, and control framework.
