# Change schema

***

title: "Change Schema"
description: "Machine-readable representation of AI system and governance changes."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

# Change Schema

The Change Schema provides a machine-readable representation of changes affecting governed AI systems, governance arrangements, or related lifecycle conditions.

## Purpose

The schema supports consistent recording and traceability of a change and its associated governance activities.

A governed change can connect:

\* the affected AI system
\* change identity and status
\* change rationale
\* affected governance conditions
\* impact assessment
\* risks
\* controls
\* approvals
\* evidence
\* implementation actions
\* monitoring
\* assurance
\* resulting decisions

## Governance use

Change records can support the determination of whether an existing governance decision remains appropriate following a material change.

A change may result in:

\* no additional governance action
\* reassessment
\* control modification
\* additional evidence requirements
\* additional monitoring
\* renewed approval
\* assurance activity
\* risk treatment changes
\* lifecycle status changes

## Relationships

The Change Schema is part of the broader AIGO machine-readable governance model.

Change information may be related to other governed objects, including:

**AI system → change → assessment → decision → implementation → evidence → monitoring / assurance**

These relationships support lifecycle traceability.

## Validation

AIGO validation tooling can inspect machine-readable repository content and embedded governance references. This provides repository-quality assurance for the machine-readable governance layer but does not itself establish legal or regulatory compliance.
