# AI Governance Assurance

Assurance provides structured evaluation of whether AI governance arrangements are appropriate, implemented, and operating as intended.

## Purpose

Assurance helps organizations obtain confidence in governance effectiveness and identify areas requiring improvement.

## Assurance scope

Assurance may examine:

* governance processes
* roles and accountability
* risk management
* controls
* evidence
* approvals
* monitoring
* incidents
* changes
* continual improvement

## Independence and objectivity

The level of assurance independence should be appropriate to the organization's governance model, risk profile, and assurance objectives.

## Outcomes

Assurance findings should be recorded and connected to responsible owners, remediation actions, risks, controls, and follow-up activities.
