# Responsibilities

> Manage AI governance responsibilities in AIGO Framework Studio.

# Responsibilities

The Responsibilities stage identifies the people accountable for governing an AI system and maintains those assignments over time.

## When to use it

Use Responsibilities after registering an AI system and whenever ownership or governance roles change.

## What to enter

Record the people responsible for relevant governance activities, including where applicable:

* System owner
* Governance owner
* Risk owner
* Control owner
* Review or approval responsibility
* Other roles required by the organization's governance arrangements

Use named people where the organization requires individual accountability. Record effective dates when responsibility assignments change.

## What the result means

A responsibility assignment establishes who is accountable for a governance role during a defined period.

Studio maintains responsibility history so that changes in ownership can be understood over time.

Assigning a person to a role does not by itself constitute approval or authorization of the AI system.

## What comes next

After responsibilities are established, classify the AI system according to the applicable AIGO governance process.

Continue with [Classify](./classify).

## Framework reference

Follow the applicable AIGO Framework guidance for governance roles, responsibilities, and accountability.
